Bio
Matt Napper was born and raised in a farming community on the outskirts of rural Sydney, spending much of his youth learning about land management practices of the time, while experiencing the backdrop of the natural areas and waterways surrounding the region. This experience forged an interest in the interaction between the natural world and human development, and ultimately laid the foundation for a career in sustainability. Matt has held roles with different levels of government and corporate real estate companies, working on projects as diverse as community bushland and river restoration, through to managing Green Star developments, and preparation of corporate “Net Zero” strategies.
At the end of this presentation attendees will be able to:
- The wide-ranging concerns of sustainability in the built environment
- How operational and embodied carbon contribute to whole life carbon and how to net this out to zero
- Why good design must contribute to all of the above
